Fresno Police have arrested two people in connection with the fatal stabbing of 38-year-old Alejandro Garcia, who was killed during a confrontation at his southeast Fresno home late last month.
Detectives say a third suspect remains at large.

    Deadly Confrontation on September 28

According to investigators, Laura Castillo, 45, and Joey Fernandez, 43, along with another unidentified man, confronted Garcia at his residence near Garrett and Barton avenues on September 28, 2025.

During the dispute, Fernandez allegedly stabbed Garcia multiple times in the upper body, police said. Garcia was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

    Arrests and Charges

Detectives arrested Castillo the following day while serving a search warrant at a Fresno residence.
Fernandez, who was already in custody on unrelated charges, was formally charged with murder on October 10.

Both suspects are now being held as the investigation continues.

    Third Suspect Wanted

Police are still searching for the third suspect involved in the attack.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Fresno Police Department’s Homicide Unit — Detective C. Franks at (559) 621-2427 or Detective J. Espinoza at (559) 621-2415.
Anonymous tips can also be shared through Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
